Google Adsense to Ban The Arbitrage Publisher Accounts and MFA Websites Accounts

Posted on 21 May 2007

Google Adsense has announced that they will ban all the arbitrage accounts and MFA ( Made for Adsense ) website accounts starting June 1st. Google is trying to clear their advertising system of websites with copied or nonsense content, full of Adsense ads, that are especially made for that and pay extremely low sums of money in Adwords or other advertising systems, with long-tail keywords to bring traffic, that will then monetize in Adsense.

Those websites are not useful at all for the visitor, so he will be forced to do one of two possible things, click an ad or close the window/tab, so the publisher will have high CTR, especially that the website is full of big Adsense ads that will make the visitor click them. And the way the visitor clicks them, maybe even by mistake, the advertiser has no benefit, paying the money for a useless visitor.

Those MFA ( Made for Adsense ) websites are mostly used in combination with Blackhat SEO techniques, that bring traffic by braking search engines Terms of Agreement and by spamming other blogs, forums or guestbooks with links to them.

Those are good news for the advertisers, but the spammers and the arbitrage people will get mad when Google will ban their accounts. It’s a great move for Google to clean all this mess.
